With new SB-900 (not mine, it belongs to my employer)
I see all these wonderful and creative self-portraits. I just can't seem to do it. Maybe I'll try a little harder next time.

I'm not a huge fan of my "pic in the mirror" shots either.
Try setting up like you were going to shoot a portrait of someone else, put your camera on a tripod, and use the self-timer for a really cool self-portrait.
Thanks for the tip. This is a really stupid question, but how do you focus it??? I've used the self-timer for a group portrait, so had someone to focus on.
